I took a small racked eight pointer on 10/11/16 in the late afternoon, he weighed 132 lbs dressed. In the area I took him lots of good sized acorns. Norwalk, near the parkway.

Why do we call him a basket Rack? Does his rack fit in a basket? If so what size basket. Or can you carry things in his rack basket like when you go shopping at halls. You know Broadheads, arrows maybe a Raculator heck even a butt out tool. Anyway just wondering where the basket rack came from. Congrats on the basket I hope its overflowing.

We have used the term "basket" rack to mean a smaller rack, it may have come from being able to fit the rack in a basket. It is a term I have often heard. Had trouble getting the photo in.

I've understood a basket rack to be one that does not exceed the width of the ears.

That's crazy, here is a basket 8 I took in CT a few years ago. Looks exactly the same size as yours.
