I was out on game lands 95 today about mid day. I saw a handful of squirrels(no shots) and found 3 sheepshead and 2 sulfur shelf mushrooms. All were a little too old to bring home. I also saw two HUGE piles of bear poop. Oh yeah, I saw a flock of several gobblers too. Found a scouting camera on a tree at the back edge of a field over a scrape. I also saw where a predator killed a hen pheasant, I'd say within the last 24 hours.
I saw a father and son out squirrel hunting and talked to them for a bit, which made me smile. Ya just don't see that as often as ya used to around here. They had seen some big bear scat as well.
No ticks. I sprayed my clothes this morning :^)
It was a beautiful day to be in the woods.

I got out for only the 2nd time this afternoon and hunted at Mr Perfects place. I didn't see a deer but couldn't have been happier. Beautiful, warm, sunny Fall day!

Caught a glimpse of a buck. My 13 year old grandson was more interested in bushy tails than whitetails, or at least they were more plentiful. He was elated and a great day to be out!

Took out the muzzle loader in the hopes of getting some meat in the freezer and OF COURSE a SUPER WIDE perfectly symmetrical 8 point hangs out munching acorns for 45 minutes at 35 yards. It was fun to watch him. He barely lifted his head he was so busy eating.

My son didn't want to sit in the stand any longer at 6:20, so we snuck out and watched a couple fields. When I pulled up there was 3 buck and a small doe and out of no where a big 8 busted out of the woods and let them other buck know he is the boss! After he chased the smaller bucks off he decided to scent check the doe and chase her around a little bit before feasting on the soy beans. Pre rut isn't far guys and gals and next week I have vacation. Good luck and may your arrows fly straight and hit it's mark!

Left for Georgia Monday early and saw a buck in the middle of the road near my house at 7:30 AM. Lots of chasing Saturday evening, so it made me not want to leave PA. We will be hunting in Georgia for a week. Be home before holloween weekend.

I couldn't help it, I had to go look for mushrooms again today. I found one sheepshead.
I also found a dead doe fawn laying on a dirt road on the game lands, and in a place with a very slim chance that it was hit by a vehicle, but I guess anything is possible.

Saw 7 bucks and 5 does Saturday morning then met up at the farm for a deer drive, which produced this doe. So thick I could only see bushes moving where the deer were running underneath. This one stopped at 25 yards on the trail that had been cleared to my tree.

I hunt in a urban area that holds some really huge bucks. I have only seen does but Monday saw a big buck that was well over 200 pounds and had a lot of bone on his head.im not sure if I should keep hunting the same small area or back out and wait for the rut. I've hunted this area for over 20 years and have seen 5 record bucks. I got to see two in one day when a hot doe came through and two more nice 8 points within 30 minutes.

I should have mentioned it was a Muzz Loader kill. If you want to remove fine. Nevertheless, 40 yard shot, high double lung, heart intact. Dropped in tracks, must have hit a vertebrae and shocked the spine. Zero meat loss. She came in alone but had a little milk. I'm guessing an early breeder. She looks old to me. CVA Pro Hunter 250 Grain Hornady SST. Two Pellets of 777 Magnum. Nikon Pro Staff 3-9.

Rutnut, pre-cooked skewered. See those broad heads on those shafts. Always figured those deer got it made living among houses.
