I didn't want to Hijack Silverado's Ohio thread so I'll start one. This is my 5th Year hunting Kentucky and have been 100% so far.
We hunt private land and have 5 to 7 different farms we hunt. This year it's my brother and my 78 year old Dad. Got here Friday night and hung stands all day Saturday. Sunday was our first hunt, I believe the three of us saw 50 Does, 15 yearling Bucks and 5 120-130" Bucks. No shooters during the morning sit.

Saturday afternoon looked promising as our best night spot needed an East wind and we have one. Field is over 1/2 mile long and I'm at one end brother at other end and Dad in the middle. The farmer left Soy Beans standing along edges and the Deer are hammering them.

9 Does and Fawns walked under my tree into the field two hours before dark. My Dad had 10 Does plus two mature Bucks. They took an hour to reach his stand.

This morning was unbelievable for the first 2 hours, small bucks chasing everything on four legs. I passed a 125" 8 pointer, he came running in to my Can call.

I ended up shooting on last day this 9 pt Buck. I was walking out to the truck and he ran up to me thinking I was a Deer walking in the leaves. Shot him at 35 yards.

Great place to hunt. It's like Vermont back in the early 80's only with big racks. Or like what CT was late 80's.
If anybody wants to hunt there I can get you in touch with an outfitter who leases the Farms next to mine.

I filmed this rut activity with my Tactacam. There is 3 Bucks chasing one Doe. A spike, 2 1/2 year old 8 pt and a 130" 10 point. It went on for 30 minutes, I was after a bigger Buck that I caught on a trail cam picture.
