That sounds about right... Too much, but it is what it is. Keep in mind that Montana does not manage the deer herd for trophy animals... The F&G manages for maximum numbers (except for a few special draw units). I don't know if you're wanting to hunt Mule Deer or Whitetails, but access on private land is difficult and that's where most of the best hunting is.
