back tag problems

While hunting with my nephew on Sat., he pulled out his back tag and carcass tags. They had turned black. Not sure if they had gotten wet or just what had happened to them. The backside (white) was just fine. It was the colored side that had turned black. Anybody else experience this?

Probably went in the dryer. Heat will turn them black. The letter that comes with the tags states specifically not to laminate the license for the same reason. Gotta go get replacement tags now.
