Here's an open invitation to the PA Bowsite's Traditional Archery folks in the Southwestern part of the state:

"Strictly Sticks Traditional Archers" will have it's next Traditional Archery 3D shoot on Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 8 AM until 1 PM.

The Crew would like to invite all of our regular and faithful attendees, and anyone who may be visiting for "The Holidays", to bring their "stickbows" over to Alverton for a day of hopefully-good shooting! If you've heard about "Sticks", but have not had the opportunity to stop over, this could be your time.

To our knowledge, there are no hunting-season conflicts to occupy the weekend. And, as of right now, the Crew has not yet decided the course. But we will try to meet your expectations with a worthy event, no matter which pathways your arrows will follow.

"Sticks" is what our guests make of it, whether it's simply a chance to meet up with friends for a pre-Christmas "Howdy", or whether it's preparing for any late-season hunting plans.

Bring yourself. Bring that co-worker who's heard you talking about your recurve expeditions. Bring family members....just to get them away from those "George Michael Christmas Specials" on the telly. Bring the hitchhiker you passed...the one with the shaped osage stave. He was probably heading this way anyhow.....

It may be cold. It may be not-so-cold. We don't know. It probably won't be mosquito weather, none-the-less. So...there's a plus!!!

Alverton, Pennsylvania. Conveniently located between the Metro Mount Pleasant and the Metro Scottdale areas. That's where the Crew will be, where you can find us.

Don't worry: we don't really care if you've been naughty or nice, since the shoot IS a week before Christmas Day. We have no lists, except the sign-in roster at the registration desk. And you won't be required to share the fruitcake you've been saving....

All we ask is the possible present of your presence....that'll work!

Hope to see you...next Sunday! And...THANK YOU...from the Crew of "Strictly Sticks Traditional Archers"!

Ho Ho Ho!!!

Steve and I was talking about it today as we shot the hunter field course.

11-Dec-16
Were you talking about various arrow searching techniques?

Sorry, can't be much help with that.

See you Sunday ole buddy. :)

11-Dec-16
Didn't have no searches today, did have to use the point puller once though:(

I may be there:)

Randy you have a PM.

Got the PM Jeff...thanks! The shoot is STILL A GO for Sunday, baring any extremely unusual weather conditions, that don't seem to be being talked about for Sunday.

Folks, just base your possible attendance on what is best for you! Weather in Alverton, Pennsylvania can be totally different from Greensburg, Paintertown, Indiana, Meyersdale, Slickville, Pittsburgh, Livermore, Latrobe, Belle Vernon, or...even a mile away in Scottdale. It's the box of chocolates: you never know what you're getting!

See whomever Sunday!

Probably the final pre-event post, so....WEAR YOUR MUCKBOOTS TOMORROW!!!

Clubhouse side and across Nuclear Creek.....you're in for a good course, even if it's mucky!

Looks like muck boots and possibly a wet suit, complete with a snorkel, from what is happening outside my door.

Bob if your still going through in the bow please.

Was fun day, not all that bad considering the weather. What happened to the mountain girls?:) Thanks SS crew.

18-Dec-16
This girl had enough freezing rain already this week. Glad you had a good time.

18-Dec-16
Randy...pass a thanks onto to crew for us. Merry Christmas.

Will gladly pass along "Thanks!" to the Crew!

And from the Crew to all who braved today, THANK YOU!!

We do beg of all of you: if you can cross those extra finger or toes, or if anyone has any mystic weather chants....anything would be appreciated for January's, and heck, for the remaining shoots!

November was not the greatest. Today was probably the wettest. What: aliens and spaceships for January, or hoards of toads??!!!

Guess it really wouldn't be a "Strictly Sticks" event if things WERE NORMAL.....!!

Now, all ye who attended: go dry off, air out those Filsons and Woolrichs, reshape your arrow fletchings, and enjoy the upcoming days and weeks.

SPAM awaits in January......heheheheheheheheheheh!!

Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!

From ALL the Crew of Strictly Sticks Traditional Archers

Dave, I wouldn't have driven down from Somerset either. I was hesitant about driving from Irwin.
