I heard this song the other day and thought it was pretty amusing. I never heard of the cut shirt tail pieces.

Shirt tails were the tradition in the 60's-70's.

Ha! Bout time they make a music video about me!
Anyone know how to embed YouTube videos into the comments? I've seen others do it.

Great video! The only time I saw cut shirt tail pieces was when someone forgot their TP. lol

I thought underwear was the clothing of choice when TP is forgotten.

So....you got your shirt tail cut if you didn't down a buck back then?

Cut shirttails! Yeah! Been there!
Another tradition we had in our camp in the 60s,...if you missed a shot you had to throw your hat on the ground and everybody got a shot at it from the distance away that you missed the deer. Some of those big four-blades back then really did a number on a hat!

Our archery club at end of the year was whomever missed the most deer sacrificed their hat. Needless to say there wasn't much of a hat left.

Hoot - shirt tails & hats. Old traditions, huh! They were fun! And look now, here it is years later and we are talking about them. Maybe we don't remember what deer/buck we killed back then, but we remember the experiences with our friends. That says something good about our values and the rewards of bowhunting. I'm just saying.

For us a missed buck=shirttail cut. First buck was a brain scramble breakfast the next morning told after the last bite.

I was down in Missouri over Christmas deer hunting. One of the days I had got out to the stand about 11:00am. About noon felt my stomach gurgle and thought oh oh. Fought it off for a spell. Knowing it wasn't going away and not wanting to mess up the prime part of the day I went about 1/2 way back to the truck and sacrificed a pair of cheap cotton gloves. Had TP in the truck but none in the day pack. That was rectified (pun not intended) that night when I got back to the truck. LOL

Many times myself & old bowhunting buddies will get together, tell stories from our annual rut hunts years ago. Just reliving those great and fun times hunting together is priceless.

Nofo - that's funny - "brain scramble" (I think I'm glad I wasn't in your camp!) Ha ha.
