SW corner small game?

Well, I never did get my act together for deer this year, but I was wondering... does anybody know of a public land area where I could go for small game? I'm kinda figuring that I'm more likely to get into squirrels than bunnies... and who knows about running across a coyote or two now and then....
But my experience here with public hunting areas is pretty grim - one year I hunted ML and couldn't find so much as a stinkin' songbird to save myself!
So I'm wondering - anybody care to steer me towards an area where I might find something to hunt? Closer to Stamford, the better.
Thanks!

Closest public land is probably Ridgefield area, Great Swamp Flood Control area or Wooster Mountain in Danbury.

Thanks, Ace...
Now I'm just trying to make sense of the map legend...
Looks like maybe the exclusion zones have been opened up for archery? But then the archery-only area north of Farmingville Road... Is that deer-ONLY??
And where the heck do you park???
Looks like I may have to put in a call to the DEEP for the straight SCOOP
