Gatlinburg

My family and I are headed to Gatlinburg from Michigan for spring break. My wife has given me the nod to plan a hiking excursion. Can someone recommend a trailhead not far from Gatlinburg where a family can take in a day hike. Just looking for some new scenery and wildlife.

not sure of the trail name but the hike up to Mt.Leconte is pretty cool and so is the hike up to Clingmans dome don't know if the fires impacted any of the trails but be sure and check with the park officials.Good luck
