It seems like soil compaction and hardpan is an issue with most food plots. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas where someone could get access or hire, rent equipment to do this?

You might look into radish. Not the typical garden variety. I used a variety called "Sod Buster". They produce a very long tuber with roots that penetrate deep. As a bonus deer eat the green tops and exposed tuber. When the tuber and roots rot away it leaves a hole to loosen soil and help with drainage.
