Thanks for posting Jason, lots of great items up for grabs each year...but I think it's the people and stories that bring me back. Hope everyone here can make it for at least part of the weekend, it would do you all some good I reckon.
P.S. I'm setting up a booth where you can punch me for $10 as a donation...I said punching booth not kissing booth Mike, so stay home ;?)
Here is a preview of TxRanger's journey and urgency to get to the Convention and be first in line. Heard he and others from Tejas that attend may also try to force feed you corn in as many varieties as possible....whole corn, cracked-corn, corn-on-cob, cream-of-corn, etc. HA!
Looking forward to it, Jason! My banquet talk and presentation will be quite a bit different from anything I've done before for other banquets. I hope to make folks laugh and think about some important things that we, as hunters, sometimes forget in our excitement to kill animals.
How much for a Booth to setup ? TXRANGERS and SITO seminar 2:00-4:00 Saturday " The 5 little known facts about corn piling". Cage match to follow at 7:00. Kids admission is free !
I have several items coming from Sitka Gear, a sight from Montana Black Gold, a Whitetail Buck Decoy from Heads up Decoy, and a Glendel Buck Target from Vanderbilt's in Hays Kansas.
I will also pick up a hand made wood pedestal for a mount from Brandon Joseph in Lindsborg, and I know that Smoky Valley Shooting Sports will donate some items as well.
To echo Kyle, the people and friendships are the highlight of the weekend, but it looks like we have a Pile of nice stuff for the Auction and raffle!! Look forward to seeing you all soon!!
Limited edition framed print of a bugling bull elk for your home, office or man cave? There will be a handful of other framed limited edition prints offered up as well!
Ladies! Our friends at Prois Hunting & Field Apparel For Women graciously donated an assortment of products. Archery shirts, Hats, Neck Warmers, Bottle Coozy's, Truck/Car Stickers and a stack of 20% off coupons. Come to the Convention & Banquet for your chance to go home with some of it!
Do you have a smelly lip fungus that they ain't identified yet? Maybe you need a scent eliminator?
Come to the KBA Banquet tomorrow evening for your chance to win any of the items listed above and large assortment of other items and things not pictured.
Good times! I think I laughed more the last two days than I have the last two years. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely. Even got lucky and won something.
Another great convention, thanks to a lot of hard work from the E.C.
As usual, I did not win anything, however the wife bought some auction items. I got even by buying a few packs of broadhead's from Nocking Point to add into my collection.
A Great Time for sure. Just got reregistered with the Bowsite, so I may drop in here. Kyle, hope you got with Terry to get some arrows for your new bow. Have fun with it.
The presentation by Lou and the fellowship with a great bunch of guys made the drive from Missouri well worth it. Looking forward to next year and maybe seeing some of you in St. Louis for the Pope and Young convention in April .
I will echo what others have said. I really enjoyed my time at the convention. Lou gave a great presentation. l The meal was good. Dave congratulations on a well deserved award. I wanted the bow that Ralph donated. I got close but if I couldn't win it, I guess Kyle deserved it.
From what Shawn told me I guess Ralph's grandson had a good time mocking me during the auction. It was fun having him up there but I'll have to train him better on how to pull my tickets next time. The best part was finally finding out where Kyle came up with Sito as a handle. I've been wondering about that for years now.
I had a BLAST once again!! Lou thanks for coming! I had a great time talking with you. Dave congrats on winning you deserved it!! Hope to see some of you guys over the summer!
Always a highlight of my offseason. Congrats to Dave. Great job Pete and Lou. Pleasure to meet you both, Rick and Lou. Looking forward to a few days in St Louis with you P&Y guys. Kaleb.
Was that your first Dave? If so I'm surprised. I saw what you were drinking sitO, that twernt beer. I rolled into the garage about 1:30am Sunday morning, earliest end of banquet night in my time with the KBA so far. Ditto the comment about the auction, how quickly it went, nice job MAG and helpers.
One of the most impressive aspects of the KBA is the policy that "nobody goes home until all the liquor is gone". When I brought those last four Buds in before I had to crash at about 2:30 (I'm old!!) it reminded me of the captive human breeders on the spaceship in the movie "Alien" suddenly coming to consciousness. Except nobody whispered "Kill me!"
Lou... I might or might not have been one that was still up at 2:30. :)
bigsho... good to meet you as well! Your story about the summer sausage/squeeze cheese that Rodney told now includes an entire ham and an electric meat slicer. LOL!
Well it was another fantastic weekend. I'm glad I had the chance to meet Lou and Rick for the first time and really enjoyed the stories we shared. Lou did a fantastic job as our speaker and it would be a joy to share a campfire with him any time. I want to thank everyone that brought items for the auction and raffle and all those who worked so hard to get things sat up and keep everything running smoothly. I hope to see some of you at our summer events and may try to catch up with Rick in a few weeks down at OJAM. I want to thank Pete for doing a fantastic job on the M.C. for us. I also want to thank Jerry for all of his years of service on the E.C. Congratulations to Dave on a well deserved award!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend everyone.
