Banquet speaker talked about how hard and difficult it was to hunt for mature 6 yr old bucks in WV. I think I have to agree for 93% of WV. I would rank it just a notch below one's chance of seeing a unicorn.

I do wish the state of Wv had a reputation of having big bucks thru out the state instead of the just the 4 counties. After the meeting on Saturday ,it looks like the wvba officers are split on the issue of buck management. They should have surveyed the members before taking the stand to be neutral . At least thats my opinion.

Getting back to banquet speaker, I think he was refreshingly different, no foul language around all the ladies and children in the crowd. Some of our other "Big" name speakers were downright gross. Thank you Steve for a really good talk . God bless you.

Steve is as good as it gets in my opinion. He is a good Christian man who takes pride in being a good husband and father. While hunting is at the top of his priority list, it will always rank #4 behind the previous 3. He represents the best WV has to offer in sportsmen.

He's a class act for sure! Delivered a good talk at the banquet. I wish I could have attended the seminar that afternoon.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't get to meet him but he sounds like a great guy and a great hunter and the fact that our banquet Speaker was a native West Virginian only made it that much better. I have nothing but respect for what he does. I just found it ironic that he spoke about hunting mature 6 yr old bucks in a state where because of regulations the average age of bucks killed is 1.5 and 2.5 yr old. A 4.5 year old is a rarity. Even in the bow counties a 6 year old buck is fairly rare. I just wish that more of our hunters were able to actually see and hunt a 4.5 yr old buck. It elevates the anticipation, excitement, and thrill of hunting to a whole different level.
