Well said:

"I’m confused by the disappearance of genuine pats on the back and the introduction of comparison when it comes to antlers size."

"The results of bullying and the competitive nature invading the hunting community are becoming increasingly evident, and quite honestly, it's sad. If it continues, intimidation will drive new hunters away from the very thing that keeps you and I going back outside to experience year after year. It will collapse friendships, it will close doors for opportunities, and it will deteriorate the motivation for hunters to unite."

It was a good read, thx for posting. The snowy River story below it was pretty good too.

One thing I will say about our forum is that I haven't seen anyone put down anyone else's deer on our kill thread. No matter how small the antlers were I've only ever seen congrats and well wishes. I may be all for apr's and the next guy may want no does killed ever but we've always been good enough to congratulate a happy and successful hunter. I've seen a few killers downplay their animal and others bring them right back up!

I think we all know that even though he's mid 30's. Tweed has never bow killed a deer yet. When that happens, whether it's a doe, spike, or giant I'm sure 90% of the regulars on here will shower him with congrats. That's part of what makes me proud to be a wi bowsiter!

We will never agree on everything and arguing amongst brothers is fine by me. So long as we unite when we need to. And when it comes to celebrating the success of others we've managed to do a great job.

Nicely said Crusader Dad. Any animal legally taken with a bow is a trophy!

This - "A hunter makes a choice if they are afforded the opportunity to kill an animal, or let it walk. The reason for a hunter’s decision is theirs and theirs to keep. If the hunter elects to harvest a game animal, it is deliberate and purposeful. What justifies questioning the integrity of another hunters decision to harvest an animal if taken cleanly and within their legal rights?"

Well-written article and I think it really hits home. One of the biggest reasons I enjoy bowhunting is the solitary nature of it. I don't need to post pictures or brag on forums. It's amazing to me the back and forth bickering that takes place on these forums and the constant "poking the bear". I have a core group of hunting friends and we are the first to congratulate on ANY animal taken whether doe, spike or PY buck. Never an ill word spoken. The trophy is in the eye of the hunter, not the opinion of the masses.

The bs "hunting shows" with over the top kill celebrations, and horn porn are the bane of our sport. Just the opinion of a not quite to the stage of "hey you kids...get off my lawn" old guy...lol.

Any bow killed deer is an accomplishment.
