You guys might remember me posting about my 8 year old daughter last fall when she took her first two deer with a X- bow. Well, Peyton was successful this past Saturday on her first turkey. She took this beautiful gobbler with a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 3/16ths spurs!
Definitely my best turkey hunt ever!! I had to keep reminding her to take deep breaths as this guy was strutting in to the decoys to keep her from hyperventilating!! Lol
He was beating up my Jake decoy for about 45 seconds before he stood still long enough for her to get on his head at 15 yards. She made a perfect shot with her little youth model 20 gauge
I'm loving this mentored youth stuff!! Can't wait till my 3 year old boy can go next!!

Awesome job Ben and congrats to Peyton!!! I too love the mentored youth program. I called in a hen with a nice Tom for my 11 year old son's first on Saturday as well. Best feeling in the world.
