Elk hunting

So I'm new to the Billings area. I grew up in kalispell mt with mountains everywhere and I knew the country and where to go. Now moving here I have not the first clue where to go and even start scouting for elk. I'm not looking to take anyone's spots but some helpful advice and good ares would be greatly appreciated.
