I know... I know... this is a MA hunting forum... I was hunting MA this AM, but with no luck... went right over the line into Hillsdale again and called this big boy in... It is nice living so close to the state line... I should start hunting CT again too! Also pretty close!

great bird, Ungie. Congrats!

You made me google the triple point: MASS/CT/NEW YORK intersection.... I am thinking that is where the bride and I should retire too.... she wants the cape; I am no beach lover....

There are a lot of deer, turkey's, and bears in that "intersection" area. I live in Pittsfield, but hunt that area primarily... I have had great success... it's a lot of fun.. finding permission on the other hand, is not so fun. I have lost my CT spots for turkey, and lost my best CT spot for deer due to a land sale... ugh... oh well... just got to keep asking and make the MA / NY spots work. :)

Good job Ungie. How is the turkey population in the Berkshires nowadays?

Spike, There are tons of birds out here lately.. This year esp. I have passed on a ton of jakes and have seen and had very close calls with quite a few mature toms. Haven't had a ton of time to stay in past first hour. I have seen loads of gobblers in fields, etc.

The area I hunt I used to see turkeys everywhere and now I haven't seen one the whole ride back in the last two years. Very odd

Spike, Where are you hunting?

Shot my first Turkey in Pittsfield state Forrest about 18 years ago, myself and some friends grabbed our tents and drove up the side of the mountain and camped for a few days. The Berkshires are some of the best land I ever hunted to this day. I love the mountains out there!

Ungie, I hunt zone 6 and 7. I should try my spot up in Becket this year. I saw turkeys a few times during bow.

plenty of birds around spike. They are looking for hens! hardly anyone out in the woods now... I think this is the best week to get on them personally.
