Congratulations to all successful hunters above! Well done! That brown phase "blackie" is a real trophy!
Congratulations! I'm digging that brown phase too. Looking forward to hearing your story.
That color phase is great! Did you see many color phase bears while you were there?
We had an awesome week we went 7 for 8 with one bear lost. Hunters sawbears every night , Baits were very active , my bear is a dream come true i have sat hundreds of hours the last 20 plus years to see a bear like this. We shot one bear that was 19 6/8 i believe thats right. But it was a rifle kill so i wont post on here i have video of three bow kills i will post. I was in on four kills in 7 days so i had a crazy week,
My bear was shot with a 125 xecutioner bear went 10 yards

Nice bears and video work. Congrats, gents!
Congratulations! Very nice beers!
Great pictures and videos! How far was your shot on the color phase.
I was wondering what those straps they always had in their bikes were for. Looks like the drag is a lot easier that way. We always just tied ropes behind the paws.
get some jeff they are sweet big bear sells them
When the bear weighs 100bls those straps work great
Just sayin
No sense buying them, I have some ratchet straps that are missing the ratchet part so I will just cut the hook off and tie a square knot to make the loop.
Great pics, story, and vids. Thanks for sharing.
I have any early morning guide trip on Friday, then hit the road as soon as I am in. If all goes as planned, 22 hours later I should be pulling into bear camp. Can't wait!
Good luck the boars are on the move
This stuff was awesome with the bear meat

Returned from my Manitoba trip this past Sunday. What a week! Lots of bears and fantastic fishing. On the second evening I had a chocolate bear that would have easily been more than 400 and maybe even 450 pounds within nine or ten yards. Not giving me a good shot, all I could do was admire him and watch him walk out of my life. What a disappointment. The cool thing was the trail camera on this bait snapped a picture of him that shows me standing in the stand behind him with my bow up. I'll try and get the pic from the outfitter and will post it if I do.
Sat a couple more evenings seeing mostly sows, cubs and a few small boars. Then on day 4, at 6:15 in the evening, the first bear into the stand was a nice boar with a sow in tow. It didn't take too long to decide I would shoot him if he gave me the chance, and less than 15 minutes later, that chance came.
Thinking my shot might have been a bit high, I forced myself to sit for two hours, waiting for the outfitter to come in and help look. We found the front half of my arrow about 15 feet from where I shot him so at least I knew I had gotten a pass through. Another 45 minutes later, we were still unable to find even one drop of blood! Deciding to start walking a grid, in less than another 15 minutes we found my bear. Funny thing was, even where he laid, there was not a single drop of blood on him or the surrounding ground.
The rest of my week was spent catching countless walleye and pike. I couldn't have scripted it any better. Attached are a couple pics from the trip.
Capt Mike, congratulations on your success, a beautiful trophy! Way to go! Also, good write up on the story, just long enough. Thanks for the post. Again, congrats!
