Anybody been seeing a lot of roadkill ? Ive been seeing at least 2-3 a week between shelton to danbury

Yup. The does that are having fawns are pushing away their offspring from last year so they can be a mom. It always spikes this time of year. Lots of the deer hit will be small bucks....spikes and forkies, since they move farther distances so they reduce the risk they'll breed their mother in November.

Found a doe last week while cycling back road in town. She was starting to bloat and flies were everywhere. Strange thing is, I didn't catch a smell.

Saw a guy run one over on the way to work a few weeks ago, he was directly behind me and I was fortunate the deer chose him. He was one fortunate soul, his Jeep hit the deer directly in the head with the steel portion of his bumper. Thankfully for the deer, death was instantaneous, no twitching or movement after the fact. I removed her from the roadway, I felt I owed her that much. The look of disgust on his face at the thought of touching a dead deer kinda made me wish the doe had done more damage.

I must have seen 6 or 7 dead deer this morning on the Merit going South. Most were does, one newborn fawn and two really nice bucks.

6/14/17 saw a buck on I-84 between Marion Ave and West St exits this morning on the way in. No balloon attached though. Guess he wasn't invited to the party.

On 6/12 there were two fresh ones on 395, one in Killingly, one in Norwich.
Today there was a new sleeper around the Jewett City exit, north bound median.
I hope there are some left come Sept.

Saw a BIG doe with 2 spotted fawns crossing rt147 next to Lyman Golf course just around dusk last night. Had my wife and 2 other people in the truck and they always ask "How did you see that deer no the side of the road getting ready to cross and how did you know there might be more than one?"
I just smile and tell them it's because I do my grocery shopping in fall :) And no comments about that from you wise guys out there!

Almost had 2 separate deer go in front of my car Saturday night coming home from Hebron. I was able to see them on the side of road and slow down. One on rt66 and the other on rt2. Did see a dead on yesterday on I-84 in Southington.
