Celebrated Father's Day /happy birthday to my mom at my grandparents house. Ordered food played outside now my 2 year old is napping. Took a walk in my grandparents basement and looked at all the old flys, lure, waders, coon traps, old property signs and thought about my grandpa. Boy I miss him. To all the old souls, fathers, grandfathers great grandfathers out there god bless all of you.

Oh mike great movie believe it or not
I'm sure you know this place mike
My Fathers Day present was having a BIG bear waddle thru my yard today. My dogs and I were in my office when they went berserk. I ran outside and yelled at the bear and basically escorted him into the woods. I live in the New Preston area of Washington and will be meeting my son at the White Horse Tavern shortly for dinner.
Paul,
Yes indeed-you chose well! Movie was great by the way!
At the Cape this week. Made clam chowder and had lobsters yesterday.
Now that's a Father's Day; chowdah and lobstah on the Cape!
I'm in Newport VT on lake Memphremagog fishing with my daughter. Home today..
We celebrated my kids birthday. Fun to do. You guys had some good times it looks like!
Nehunter, I think you spelled the lake name wrong??? That's the best gift,....time together.
I had my older daughter take me golfing on Saturday in Sturbridge because she lives in Boston and my younger daughter and grandson came over yesterday and made me a bloody Mary, shrimp cocktail, stuffed figs, baked lobster and strawberry shortcake. Gotta a get a new tree stand to hold me now
Neh I have caught some big rainbows there years ago . Browns too
Paul - how do you spell it?? :)
Bob,
Steve's got the spelling right; a quality fishery in Northern New England and you can catch landlocked salmon and even steelhead (though nowhere near the size of what you'll get out of the Lake Ontario tributaries) up there.
If you like yellow perch you can catch some pretty good sized ones up there and have quite a few nice meals.
Maybe you can buy a retirement cottage on the lake and I'll "volunteer" to show you the hot spots?!!
We have had a place on the lake for 35 Years. I've never fished a place where you can catch all species in only a few hundred Yards. We had a Perch fry Saturday night, cleaned over 75 of them. Best eating fish there is, if done properly.

Bob,
Link provided for your perusal.
Mike - thanks for the link. We used to fish Lake Champlain on the Canada border years ago, mostly for pike, but also those tasty yellow perch. I'll have to take a closer look at the area as I do plan on getting back into fishing when I retire, but mostly salt water.
My boys and I were up on Champlain over the weekend. North hero. Bbb if you know of any good spots I'm interested, as long as they're not like your deer spots lol. You can truly get spoiled up there.
We would stay at Campbells Bay Campground. They used to rent boats but we always brought our own, so not sure what the story is today up there. We would head straight out from the campground area and then off the right in the weeds using 3" daredevils or you can catch the small leopard frogs along shore, put a Johnson silver spoon through their lips and throw that rig in near the weed line and wait. You can catch lots of yellow perch with a spinner bait and there was good bass fishing there as well.
Good luck!
Soap - forgot the most important thing. It's in a town called Swanton and you'd be fishing right on the US/Canada border.
Very familiar with the campground. We stayed at Campbell's for a couple of years and rented a house across the bay too. Twenty three years total. Once we fish up there, really don't care to fish around here. Only thing I don't like up there is when the wind blows. Four footers are no joke.
Ah, so you know the good spots as well! Yeah, the waves on that lake can make you feel like you're on the ocean. That's a good time to head back to camp and have an adult beverage and wait it out.
