Colorado recon

Will be traveling to Longmont, CO area next week and hoping to check out the region. Youngest kid will be out of high school in 3 years. After that, I would consider moving out of state, and CO is on the short list. I have very little knowledge of the area. If anyone has suggestions regarding places to check out it would be greatly appreciated. Thx
