Anyone hearing lots of bugling? Specifically looking for gmu 55 but glad to hear from anyone willing to share.
Not much in 20.......had one respond at night to a location bugle I sent out. Had one bugle as he bedded above me about 9 am one day. This week.
I've been in 61 the last two weekends and they are going off pretty regularly after dark and the first two hours of the day
Thanks for the input. Usually 13th on has been my prime time. Leaving MN tomorrow for 55. Gotta love Sept in Colorado!
Been in this spot for 3 years and this year has been extremely quiet compared to the last two at this point in the season.
Not hearing lots, heard a couple but not one was an answer to my calls, but it's getting close I think
36 and 361 away from the roads they are talking. Sunday in 361 there were 5 or 6 bulls bugling all day.
i glassed a herd of about 40 yesterday morning out in the open in an avy chute. i was completely shocked to see them where they were. in the open, about half a mile from a well traveled access road to a popular 14er trailhead. they were about 3mi below the trailhead, east facing, just chilling. two monster 6xs were still with the cows, along with some smaller guys and raghorns, so it looks like the battle royales have not kicked off yet. but they were chirping. the bulls were giving their half-hearted locator bugles, just milling around. made my day watching them.
Last weekend in NC Colorado they were bugling and chasing all day long.
heard/saw a couple bugling in 171 last weekend.
Hunted unit 6 this weekend and didn't hear a peep! Bumped a couple groups in the dark, but nothing else...
