Let's see you beautiful bear harvest pictures.
I'll start them out. I got this guy on Sept. 9th. A 6 yard shot and a 80 yard recovery. Chippewa County
The 'Bear hunting reports 2017' thread below was kind of intended for this. Nice bear CB.
Nice Bear, love the bow. What setup are you shooting?
Live2... My setup is a Blacktail Columbian TD Longbow, 48#, 540gr arrow (GT Traditional w/Grizzly broadhead)
Nice Chris, and taken with "trad" gear makes it that much more rewarding!
Congratulations on a fine bear. You certainly did well!
Well done, and with traditional gear to boot!
Well done! Congrats. Especially cool with trad gear.
The temps up north for the opener of sitters week in A, B, and D, have been brutally hot.
Thanks guys....it's my first with the longbow.
August 17th Vermillion Bay Ontario. Hunting with my good friend Chris LaVoie since 1983. Dream bear was large and chocolate. Thanks Chris, Lottie, and Ben
Screwball - congratulations on the bear. Looks like you had a good hunt, way to go!
Here is an Iron County bear that my Purple Heart Veteran Hunter harvested on 9/16 north of Saxon. 187 Lbs dressed. I know it's not a bow kill, but he is not able to use one. First big game harvest and hopefully plenty of more to come. Plenty of bears coming into the baits. The cooler weather helped get them in during the daylight hours.
Way to go Mike, on your clients success and for doing good stuff for wounded veterans.
I killed this one last Friday in zone A. It was a bow kill. Well, a compound bow, so kinda a bow kill. This was my 1st bear hunt and probably my last. My son and daughter each killed a bear so I wanted to even the score :). I was not after a monster bear.
I passed on this bear on opening day for sitters which was week 2 (zones A, B, and D). It was >80 degrees all last week until I left on Sunday. I only had 5 days to hunt. The day time movement was not great but some dandies were killed. I decided if given a 2nd chance, I would take the bear I passed given that on Thursday, day 2 for sitters, only 1 bear was even seen with the remaining 15 hunters.
I didn't have my camera with me for in-the-field pics and I am disappointed in that. We had to work quickly for me to get the bear back to camp (> 20 mile drive) to get it in the cooler and iced down while the guide and his son headed out to recover 2 other bears that were shot.
Happy- Nice bear!
Thanks guys!
I'm happy to see you on the kill thread Happy! I know you care more about others enjoying that experience.
Congrats to everyone on their successful hunts! They are awesome animals. One day I hope to get a Wisconsin tag.
U.P Michigan September 19th.

I'm trying really hard to be on this thread. Going back to eagle river sat-mon. Baits getting hit again but still slower than it was before it went dead for a week. All my regulars are back.
A couple of nice bears shot by 12 year olds at NBC Guide Service this year. I know they aren't bow harvest pictures, but never the less some very happy youngsters. We ended up 12 for 15, all but 4 were bow kills.
This was our second largest bear killed this year by the other twelve year old.
My friends daughter got her second bear with a bow. She's an amazing archer with two bears and two bucks under her belt and she just turned 14.
Passed 5 little guys this weeekend was rewarded at Monday evening when I was able to close the deal on a 250+ bear beautiful thick shiny hair and an incredible black muzzle.
Chris - Congrats on a great bear. I love those black muzzled bears.
