Hope every one has a fun and safe season.
Wow 2 days and no meat on the pole.
I guess maybe guys are being more selective especially with this heat!
Gene shot a giant doe on Saturday. He can fill you in with the details.
My brother got a nice doe yesterday morning.
No deer seen this morning
Here's one I got last night in 5d. Photo not great, but the slick trick did the job. Good luck guys.
Nice! Way to git er dun Brian! : )
So thats what a deer looks like.
2nd deer of the year. 5d. Quartering away at 17 yards. Hunting a white oak.

Saturday September 23rd. 6:05PM. 5C Doe Hunt organized by UBP.
Congrats Brian. You can edit the picture right in your post. Click the edit tool then click rotate, probably twice.
Had three small bucks bumping her around for about a half hour, never seen that the first day of archery season.
My 9 year old daughter Peyton got her first buck yesterday evening at 6:05 PM. We were set up over a small clover plot my brother and I planted this year.
This surpasses any hunt I have ever had of my own by far!! My season is complete!!!:)
Sorry for the blood pic. This is the first pic I snapped with my phone right after we found him. I'll post some more pics tomorrow.

WAY TO GO PEYTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
That is SO COOL, Ben! Tell her congrats! And congrats to you as well! ;-)
Knocked a fatty down in 5C Saturday... Lots of deer on their feet eating acorns.. The woods are heavy with mast this year.
Congratulations, Peyton and Ben! Very cool moment for the Farmer family!
Frickin' fantabulous Ben! Now, I wish I could get my 9 yr old son and 11 yr old daughter a little more interested. They will go out with the gun with me right now (in rifle season) but they haven't had the urge to practice and go out in bow season with me. Maybe soon, maybe soon. I'll show them your daughter's pic and maybe that will light a little fire in them. Tell her Congrats!
Well, it's been a few years since I have been able to tag one. The last few years I was putting most of my effort into getting my son his first archery kill. Well that happened last year. Told myself the first legal deer that presents a shot...... Well this 5 point came in at 8am. Second buck I saw that morning. Went 70 yards and piled up down a steep creek bottom.
Congratulations Peyton, and Pops, Well done
Nice buck, Beautiful smile
Took a freezer queen to donate to hunters sharing the harvest this morning.
Great job to All!
Beautiful buck Payton!!!
Congratulations everyone!
Congrats all!! Perfect shot, Bob. Looks like the Farmer family is putting 'em down!!
Talking to some friends and when I dropped my deer of at the butchers, alot of deer are hitting the ground.

My wife and I with the kids before their first day archery hunting.
My 11 year old nephew Ian, was able to shoot his first deer while sitting with his Grandfather on the opening day of Archery in 5C. My 10 year old nephew, Owen was able to shoot his first deer last Saturday. All I need now is a deer for my Niece and we'll have the trifecta.
That's COOL Mitch! Great pics! Hope your niece is next! ;-)
That's great Mitch and Mike.
Great stuff. Love the stories and pics of the kids getting out into the woods!
Congratulations to everybody taking nice deer... especially the youngins' getting it done!
Mike...that smile on Hunter's face says it all! Great job to both of you!
Last evening here in 5B, my wife Katie put a nice doe down with her PSE! This is her 2nd archery deer in only 3 years of hunting...couldn't be prouder! 15 yard shot, the ViperTrick did it's job, and this doe only made it about 30 yards before piling up.
Good luck, folks! Keep the pictures coming!
Congrats Mitch and Mike on getting the kids out there. Looks like the kids are dominating this thread this year!!!
Congrats to your wife Pa bow and to swiggy on a nice buck!!

Berks County Wed Pm right in front of a T-storm. Fedora R/D, cedar arrow, Zwickey head. Paul at Elite Arrows made mine and he is a gem to work with.
Shot this really cool doe tonight. #13 for the season so far in 5D. Should have bought more tags. ;-)
Congrats Steke- cool for sure!
#13 already?????????
Yep. Unusually high deer numbers and a great acorn crop have made for some action packed hunting.
This big boy was filling his belly with acorns Saturday eve.
This big boy was filling his belly with acorns Saturday eve.
My York county 84degree's buck.
Awesome buck! Congratulations.
That's a dandy buck for sure. Congrats.
Thats a great animal! God he's going to make a pretty mount. Like what you did with the leaf..... And that buck surely deserved the respect you gave him. Nice work!
Awesome to all the successful hunters hope to join your club this evening. That York Buck is really something.
This morning in 3D(Pike Co)
Congrats to everyone who got one! Love the pics and stories. Keep it up

Congratulations, everyone! Some nice deer being taken early on! What a buck, Tod! Wow! Perry...I bet you didn't have a problem blood trailing that one!! ;-)
Congrats to all you guys did have harvested so far. It's going to be a great year for everybody.
CongrTs everyone!!
Dang Steke, what broadhead you shooting? Might have to buy stock in them!;)
Great buck Tod!! Congratulations!!
Way to go Perry and captain!
Thanks guys!
That’s a unique buck, Captain- Congrats!
Steke- you are definitely in a target-rich environment! ;-) Did that deer have any other white on her?(I mean other than the usual places?)
Josh- that deer went 27y after shot and I watched as it went down over the bank and out of sight. I thought I heard it crash, but couldn’t be sure so I gave it sometime. When I got to the top of the bank and looked down the hill. This was the view from there
Reminds me of this blood trail from last year.
Wow! Was that one deer Brian?
Perry, What broadhead did you use? (Psst....don't answer that!!!) ;-D
Hey Rut That was one deer. Gives you an idea of how much blood there is from a double lung hit.
Yeah, that's pretty impressive!
Berks County tonight. Great night to be sitting out. Life is good since my son around to help me with the recovery. He is on deck....
Great Buck with the stick! Congrats!
Nice buck, Chris! Congratulations!
Awesome and with a stickbow.. ^5
Thanks for the words of encouragement. Enjoy the season and be safe.

My son arrowed this very respectable 3yr old monday night.....22yd perfect pass through with a short recovery. What a rush to be able to experience this with him....for only 10yrs old he gets it done! Lol

Congratulations on a nice buck, huntinelk!
Congratulations to your son, Ken! Looks like he shot one that matches his hat! :-D
That's a tank of a deer!! Congrats!
Thanks Herd, first time in a while I had to call in reinforcement to get a deer out of the woods. I think I even muttered the words, "I'm getting to old for this !@#$" lol
That's awesome Brett, great buck congrats!
Nice buck! Congratulations!
Congrats, Brett.. What kind of stick bow is that?
Widow PSA III. Little heavy, little slow but just shoots well.
Great Buck Brett! Congrats!
Beautiful buck. Congrats!
Congrats Brett. Don’t matter how heavy or slow the bow is. If they shoot well, all is good.
After watching this buck run an 8 point off. I decided to use my Jersey buck tag and remove him from the herd. Seems to be a genetic trait where we hunt.
Antlers on the left.....figures eh Brian:)
Thanks guys. I called him the Devil deer. Was definitely the dominant deer. With that dagger on the right side, not many bucks were willing to fight him.
This is is my son Matt's first year hunting by himself. 4:55pm he got it done, all on his own. He did text me a pic of the blood trail. Of course I had to go and help! :)
Way to go Brian and Matt!
LMBO Dale!
No problem Art! Glad I was there to help! : )
My son shot this one tonight.
SnS,
When you are a 13 year old going on 25 football player it is important to maintain a look of coolness at all times...
She was a very big old girl
When we were in school getting football pictures we called it givin 'em a mean. Never smiled. LOL.
Congrats on all the find deer, And proud fathers!
LOL! That is a “Big Momma”! Congrats to your cool son, huntin Elk! : )
Whoa Nelly!!!! That is a big meaty doe. Congrats to the young hunter.
Saw this buck coming in at 150y down in field. It came straight up to me and due to shot angles and open spot was afraid he would see me draw. So somehow I managed to stay composed enough to turn my back to him and wait for him to walk past me on my right(I’m a lefty) and visit the scrape/rub at 8y. He stopped and I took the hard quartering away shot. Worked perfectly! : ) Yesterday about 4:45
Congratulations, Perry! Nice buck!
4:15 tonite tending a doe. Unbelievable hunt! Saw this buck 4 weeks ago, with another buck
Frustrating that it flips the photo 180 degrees.
WOW Brian! That thing is a Monster! Congrats!
Justin- Way to go! 2 deer in 2 days? Awesome! Great buck and even better reaction from your little one! ;-)
BSked asked me to right the photos so here they are. Great buck.
Great bucks fellas, congrats to all the great success this year!!
Congrats everyone, some nice deer being taken. Best part is seeing the family, friends and young ones coming together and enjoying the outdoors. Perry congrats, you are having a heck of a year.
Thanks guys! Yes, this is certainly a year to remember! ;-)
I got sinew from the butcher for Dan while I was there dropping Dale' s deer off Friday. That's should be done today.
Sorry for bad pic. Didn't get him back home till 1a.m.
Nice buck Chris. Congrats.
But you got him home, nice work!
My 14 year old daughter got her second buck with a bow this year and I am very proud of her. She has nerves of steel. I know I couldn't hold it together at her age.
Great buck Chris- congrats!
I got this guy on 11/03/17. My best Pennsylvania buck to date.
Thats Great stuff right there!
Congratulations everyone!! Some beautiful PA deer being taken this year!
Congrats to you and your daughter Robert!
Before school action this morning.
Put this one on the ground this morning in 5D
Wish there was a "like" button for all these pics!
It is crazy. We still haven't even had a hard frost yet, let alone a freeze, but that's about to change in a big way on Friday.
Nice guys. Dan is out hunting in the snow right now.
Nice buck, Steke!! What a hog!
I was very fortunate to take this nice 7 pt. in 5B this morning. I was only on stand for 6 minutes until he showed up! Dad talked me into hunting my wife's stand, (with her permission, of course!), and it paid off bigly!! Haven't got a buck in 4 years, and couldn't be any happier that streak is over!
Best hunting is still yet to come!! Get out there folks, and keep this thread going!
Way to goes fellas, nice job.
Great stuff guys. Congrats!
From: stick n string 03-Nov-17 Wheres your pic elk yinzer??? dont hold out on us.....
Wow, done got called out???
Wednesday, 11/1. 6 PM. 4D Public. Thickest fog I've ever hunted in. Appeared out of nowhere at 20 yards, had to make a quick decision to shoot, made a good shot, and he went 20 more and fell over. The rest of the story is all the hours of scouting and time on the stand that led into that 10 second encounter. Got a nice big doe on 10/27 too, didn't get any decent photos. Freezer is full and wife is happy I'm done.
Hunted with a good friend for a couple days then my dad all week (and put them in my best spots!). They saw quite a few shooters and my dad whiffed on one tough shot. Great week. Can't say the same about being back to work this one. Family circumstances have me living with no elk hunting for a few years, but November is the next best thing. Waiting 12 months until next year seems unbearable! With the beautiful weather this week, I wish I could still be in a tree somewhere, but it's not in the cards this year.
Mentoring a new adult hunter, one of my best friends, during rifle season. I hope I can get him some cracks but more importantly start him on the path toward hunting on his own and learning some woodsmanship.
Congrats to all, and good luck to those still out! Some really impressive PA bucks going down this year! With the weather this week and last, I think the archery kill this year is going to blow away the records.
Looks like a great bow season..Congrats to all who scored and ones who gave it their all.
Cody filled his last tag on the last day of the season. He had 3 tags and was able to fill them in a span of 11 days, after finishing football season. I'm very proud of him for the time and effort that he put in and for making 3 excellent shots.
My Favorite "Mentee".
My Favorite "Mentee".
Spent much of the season mentoring my son. Wouldn't have it any other way. Got it done in 3A.
WAY TO GO BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's what I like to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )
My first last day archery buck. Grunted and used the estrous canto bring him from over 100 yards in to 15 soon after 7 o’clock. Only went 45 yards. My best pa bow buck by far!
Last Minute Buck- 4PM the last day chasing a doe , she brought him right to me just like they do on TV. Matthews Halon 6 @ 72# Rage Hypo. 75 yard recovery . 9 point 180# field dressed , my best PA buck to date.

Hey Roy, if I forget to start a 2017 Meat Pole 2.0 on Sunday, would you please take care of that for us? Congratulations to everybody on here. It sure was fun reading about all the bow hunting fun whether you got one or not. Fills in the slow days of my retirement. I am about done mounting all my turkey beards and spurs. No more skull soup to make unless Dan gets lucky next week.
Last day harvest.First bow harvest in a few years. No tracking on this one.
Keep up the good work with those kids Mike!
Congratulations to everyone. Lots of nice pictures!
I especially like seeing the kids out there hunting!
It's been quite a while since I've visited this page.
Took this guy the last week of archery season in Pa this year, my best buck ever!
Harvested this 3.5 year old buck on nov 25. I saw him 150 yards away. Through grunting and snort week it took 45 min to bring him in to a 30 yard shot. Not my biggest buck but I hunted hard all season missed a big 10 nov 4th. Arrow hit a limb and deflected. The cool thing about this buck is the time it took to bring him in. Unlike other bucks it was a quick kill. Usually chasing a doe or came from out of no where and appeared. I'll be on thhere doe second season. Good luck to all of you!
Great bucks guys! Congrats!
Stick-n-String.............................you're right! The PA Boys and Girls dun REAL good this year! ;-) Great to see all the pics and hear the stories!
