This buck was killed in Cowley County this morning! These guys were eating lunch at Gannon is in Winfield. They were showing the rack off to someone so asked them if I could take a picture. The gentleman leaning on The truck is the one who shot it.

I sent the picture to my taxidermist and he told me it was killed in a high fence. He knows it for fact because he has the cape in his freezer and is going to mount it for the guy. I never wanted to be the guy that spread a false story. I can't believe they stood right there and lied to our faces!! I am going to post 2 pictures, one from the preserve and one taken in Winfield. Look at the skull plate in both. The one from the preserve has a clean skull plate the one taken yesterday is all bloody. This was a premeditated act!! SAD!!!

That is CRAZY, it wasn't your fault Lee...they knew exactly what they were doing. Obviously ashamed of what they did, and trying to "cover" it up...just like those who shoot theirs over a pile of corn, that's NEVER part of the story lol.

Cowley is my hunting grounds. They grow big here no doubt but majority are big typical frames with some kickers and junk every now and then. Not crazy mega non-typ. like that one.
Lee, sorry they lied to you. Sounds like they are a bunch of chumps with obviously a lot of money to blow. Figure they paid $7-9K for that buck and probably tipped the kid who is the gate operator $1K to let the buck out of his pen. Wonder if they killed a bull elk too? SAD!

Lying bastards. Not cool. High fence hunting is ridiculous I know of a ranch in Ohio where the guy taps on the side of the box blind as if it's the dinner bell and then tells the "hunter" how much each buck costs as it walks in looking for snacks. Makes me want to puke.
