A guy I work with got this beautiful 10 this morning in full velvet. Anyone ever see one this late in velvet before? This is a first for me. He's getting it mounted.

What state? If he's still in velvet most likely something is wrong with his nuts. Tell him to take a look. Sometimes they get twisted, or maybe he got his nuts caught on a fence. I have seen this but never in person. Have also seen does like this

Wonder if you still have to get a special tag to have a buck in velvet . One of my customers almost lost a buck at the taxidermist that was in velvet that he didn't report .

Minnesota buck...and you're right, his nollies were up inside still...but that didn't keep him from having a thick neck or chasing a doe...which is what he was doing when he met his demise. Anyway, pretty rare I think.

You guys are "right on the nuts." I kicked up a big 10 pointer in velvet years ago while grouse hunting in October. It was strange to see, but very cool.
