So I have continued to read up on Deer Biologists/Studies etc,..

I found this one is pretty darn good.

It is a like an ongoing blog of the research and includes movies tracking the GPS movement on deer in the study. This one called Buck 12783 is fascinating to watch his movement over a fall sped up on a movie,.. It is definitely not what I would have predicted,.. take a look at this one thread in the blog,..

I am surprised how much time he spends on the ridge top?

I plan on studying other links in this blog and bet we can all learn a lot from those who spend their lives working on this stuff 40 hours a week.

Ok so I figured out after a second watching the green is daylight hours,.. so he sleeps up on the ridges and heads into the valley at night,..

Course this is one deer,.. I will find some more of this type of stuff. Gps stuff is so cheap now they have been putting it on all sorts of critters,.. I saw one where they did a house cat it was pretty funny how they roam.

I will try to dig up more of this

Good stuff BB, thanks for posting it. I've been reading a bunch of stuff from dudes who are far better hunters than I'll probably ever be about bucks strategically hanging out on ridges like that. The buck has a line of sight down both sides and more importantly prevailing winds blow scent up one side of the ridge and thermals raise scent up the other side. That buck is almost unkillable on that ridge top outside of the rut.
