Settled in 20 ft in blue hills. Deer everywhere walking in. Doe hunting. Good luck guys
Driving to NJ for work. Damn I have the life!
Didn’t go in full freezer makes it hard to get up
Spitting snow otherwise quiet in zone 11
Z0. I was hoping to go this afternoon, but with the rain coming, Ill likely just work hard all day and try to go Thursday. Good luck to the folks out... Feels good out there!
Gotta Hunt the rain in last week of shotgun.
Went out with the bow for a little this morning. Nothing going on. Found this area last year in early November that was just torn up with rubs and scrapes. Fresh tracks every where. Then by the time I had put it a stand in there it was the last week of November and the sign just wasn't really there anymore. So, I figured it was an a good rut spot (first couple weeks of Novemeber). Put a cam out there mid October, and the pictures confirmed my hypothesis. From November 1st through about the 20th it was buck central. Then they were gone. Till next November I guess.
Murphy did you put up a ladder stand?
I screwed up not sitting in it though. Heres some of the pics.
Went out this morning before day break. Saw nothing . Check some trail cameras deer still in the area very active after 6:00 pm to about 5:30 am then nothing. Saw some new scrapes.
Saw a bunch of deer out and about on my way in to Z0. Figured with this weather coming in you guys would be stacking them up!
Out for awhile in zone 10 this evening. Very selective today, holding out for a unicorn.
My hunts will no longer be filmed, because my camera crew tells me we've run out of tape.
Just as well, because hair and makeup team stopped showing up weeks ago.
Drove by my family's property in Zone 7 and had 3 deer standing in the field, This is at 3:15 So i'm thinking do I have enough time to run home grab my bow and put on a quick stock before I have to bring My daughter to swim. I get home it's 3:30, grabbed my Bow run back by 3:45. It's a 45 yard shot, Sneaked up and I dropped the biggest Doe!
That's how it would of played out if I went back, needless to say Were on our way to Swim Practice... Good Luck to all and Congrats to who Connected!
Bowjob I knew you were kidding cuz their ain’t no deer in zone 7!
Well does were the goal and that's what we got! I got one and 2 other guys I hunted with got one. Saw over 20 doe and a spike. All pushing. You gotta push in there. They know we're in there and just go to the thickest nastiest stuff. Shout out to Chris platzer (CPand some numbers). He gave me some really good advice on how to hunt that place and it paid off!
The does we got we're 1.5, 3.5, and 5.5 years old according to the biologist. Good for that old nanny for surviving in that war zone for so long!
Thanks! Target rich environment in there
Congrats!! Any idea what the old girl weighed?
S and P. The 1.5 year old weighed 94. The 3.5 year old weighed 107 (felt like 200 dragging it a mile with no water!!) and the old girl weighed 103. All real healthy deer.
Congrats moons. Just stay outa this end! Ha just kidding
Yeah, what Spike said - stay over there!
Congrats Moons! How much longer is the BH hunt?
Haha thanks guys! Will be sure to stay away from ur areas ;). Will tomorrow is the last day of the hunt.
Rumor has it next year the reservation will be open to hunters for all of archery, and they will do the same lottery shotgun hunt
Be nice to Moons ... He can always come and hunt my area... 95 south about 7 hours drive turn left . Come on down!
