A fella I know in NW KS shot a doe a couple weeks ago, knew it was a good but stayed in the stand another two hours hoping a buck may be following her. He got down, walked it up and all the hindquarters were eaten. Yotes need some thinning.

In 8 hours, I lost an entire buck in Greenwood Co, one year. The next morning, the only thing left was the hide, antler, and bones and the crows were sitting on the hide. I plan on hitting them hard this year. During rifle season I watched a pack of 4.

Same exact thing happened to me this year. Shot an 8 pointer right about 4:00, found him at 6:00 and they already started in on the hind end.

Duck hunting has been so crappy my brother has already started in on them. They made 6 sets the other day and called in 5 pairs. I am going with them tomorrow to be the shotgunner.

I have a bunch at the farm. I got a new Primos Alpha Dog and as soon as deer season is over I'm going to put it to work.

Been lucky on my deer, but I’ve talked to guys who’ve had coyotes on them in as little as 20 minutes. Had crows pecking at wounds in as little as 10 minutes, and then start calling for more. I’m guessing coyotes would know the meaning of those calls, too.

What do you do with coyotes after the kill?

I throw them in my dead ditch, then take the tractor and put a bucket of dirt over them.

Give them to a gentleman that will skin them.

Is it ironic that when farmers and insurance company's complain about too many deer bow hunters don't want to hear it but when a starving coyote eats a deer we have "yote" problems?

Up here they tell me the skins are bringing around $30

No thanks Kyle, I don't need any skins. I was wondering if they were worth anything, or just killed for the sake of killing and let lay for number reduction. Charley answered the worth question.

We did 2 sits tonight. First one called in 2 and cousin missed with the rifle. He is also mayor of a small town. He has been getting complaints about cats missing and coyotes in town. As we go by across the road from his house is a bean field and right next to the road is a coyote that looked like a pup from this year. Look down the road back into town and a big alpha male standing in the middle of the road by the school.
Went on to the second sit right at dusk but didn't see anything.

I was told by Craig McCarthy of North Mt. Adventures in Manitoba they are bringing $120. Not sure if that's Canadian or USD

Sounds like a Greenwood Co rancher. Be careful, he will start letting other people hunt when you're not there if he hasn't already

Just going off 20 years experience as hunting as a local and leasing up by you near Madison. Maybe I'm bring too critical, but I've seen it happen more than several times and it happened to me. You pay the landowner, but when you leave, he lets his friend, cousin, business partner, or nephew hunt. I've actually been given permission by some very well liked ranchers and it sounded like this : "I don't care if you hunt, but if the lessors see you, I didn't give you permission. If the warden comes, then tell him I said you can hunt."

Same here Thornton, there are some guys paying $6000 for a lease here, the farmer just lets me know when they are going to be here. They came 3 times this year, early September, Mid October, then the 2nd week of November. About 4 days each trip.

First thing I noticed about the buck of mine that the coyotes ate was they peed all over the cape before they left.
