My clothing is 20 years old and not water proof. I wear about eight layers of shirts, fleece and other various articles of clothing up top, long johns, fleece sweats, camo pants on the legs. Then, I may wear a gore-tex jacket, and my really old camo coat, possibly nylon water proof pants (when it is wet out), and camo bibs. I figured it was time to treat myself. I spent 24 days trying to find a deer this season. I was out in the warm, cold, rain and snow.
I am a big fan of layering when I hike and ski, so I went for the same for hunting. Cabelas Rain Suede is now my outer, waterproof layer. I picked up a pair of camo fleece pants, and a 650 fill down coat for the cold. I still need to find some nice merino wool base and mid layers, hand muffs, light fingerless gloves and a neck gaitor round out the ensemble. Cabelas is running some nice deals right now.
Getting ready for next year :)
I like Cabelas outer wear better than BPS. I have bibs and a long coat that allows for full arm movement. Enjoy, Let's Go

This is a great article on camo,.. the pictures are illustrative.
I am trying to reduce that Popsicle effect of that late in the year tree stand hunt when leaves are gone and all I have is my regular brownish camo . I am back-lite by a grey or blue sky and my large brownish camo mass really must stand out. This article link shows an example of how that sucks with pictures and all.
I still have no good solution yet,.. the Sitka grey looked awesome but they do not have my size.
This article is a good read for all, bet many already have read it,..
I use my own camo design. Its a hoody but I layer and mainly use it for archery and turkey hunting. I've posted here before so just thought Id chime in on this.
Thanks CamoGuy,.. still up a tree late season with no leaves,.. that is another blob.
That predator camo has me interested and will hope they have some at Cabelas to check out on sale in hartford
Good article BB. Pretty interesting to see how different camo shows up on different back drops. Alot like fishing lures, they don't need to catch fish, just fisherman. And I really hope the writer was kidding when he referred to the belief in evolution as foolishness....
