Bowhunting unit 47

I'm looking into unit 47 for next seasons archery elk and/or rifle mule deer. I have done a lot of map scouting looking at the topography and lay of the land but I haven't yet been able to scout it yet. Any info on a good starting point or campground in that area would be very much appreciated. As well as any knowledge on elk numbers. Thanks!

Only hunted it years ago but I have hunted a neighboring unit. Great country and we found a lot of nonhunting trail traffic, plenty of hunting pressure near road access and elk hanging out high and off the beaten path.

Hunt high early and off the designated trails. The elk numbers are OK, but the deer numbers are still low in there.
