Is anyone going to brave the cold this morning? I got up, but having issues with courage for this cold. Yesterday I went out and it took hours to get the cold out of my bones. I'll have at it a little later today. Good luck out there and be careful.

When it’s this cold deer are more likely to bed to conserve energy. If u want to find them look on slopes facing south south west

Swamp froze over.

Arch, You know it's cold when the swamp freezes over. I didn't even bother today. I went to the grocery store and froze just walking to and from the car. Way too cold for me. I just told myself that the deer are in some really thick stuff in the middle of the forest so the wind hits them less and that they aren't moving too far from that spot. If I try to go, the frozen snow will alert them long before I get a chance to even see one. Couch hunting today. Hunting for something to watch. Lol. Hope everyone is safe.

I sat from around 12:30-4:15 today. Little nippy out there. Didn't even wear camo as none of my hunting gear is rated for extreme cold. Threw on my most heavy duty ski gear and I was good to go. Followed some tracks to a south face slope with my climber, the tracks continued on for another 80 yards or so, to some large pines soaking in the sun. Around 1:30 a group of does pop out of the pines and came with in about 40 yards of me, about 10 yards too far. They seemed to be moving during the warmest time of the day.

Got this buck today with the help of some friends who kicked him up to me. He came running by at 20 yds and gave me a clean shot with the ML, hit him right on the chest and he dropped on the spot.
