Anybody know what this is?

Got this picture the other day and unfortunately didn't catch much of the animal. I thought maybe the tail would give it away, but I don't recognize it.
You want to know what that is? That is a camera that reacts too slowly to capture the image...join the crowd, I also have a few cameras like that! Bummer & frustrating! I shouldda spent a few extra $$ and bought better ones!
Seriously though, to me it looks like a portion of the left hind quarter of a deer walking with its tail clamped tightly against it's rear. That's just my opinion, maybe someone else will have a better analysis.
After thinking about it some more, it does appear to be the hock of a deer. The tail just doesn't really look like a whitetail deer tail. It looks narrower than a deer tail and not as white. Maybe it's just the way the camera took the shot. I just got this camera, it's actually a wireless one. Sometimes the deer are perfectly centered, and I've even had it take pictures too early. I think the cold has a lot to do with it as well.
Case, I wish it was a little more exciting than a deer's hind end, but I agree that's what it is.
My problem is the camera takes too fast of shots. I actually set on 5 shot bursts because of that Case. LOL

jeffd, without a doubt that is a deer.
A B&C firle if I ever saw one! A Crossbower could get this one into the book since P&Y is out of the question.
It seems I'm on the outside of an inside joke on this one. I have no idea what a firle is...
Jeff, it will take a while but eventually you will encounter a firle and when you do you it will all make sense. ;-)
I say deer, maybe with some bull thistle stuck to it's tail.
I don't know LC. It looks to me like the G2 and G3 share a common base.
I that you guys are correct on Firle. The problem is, many didn't even realize they were reintroduced. Some think they were never extirpated to begin with. Quite often people have no idea what a Firle is when all they are is reintroduced. A quick check on Wiki will tell the reintroduction story.
Jeffd..... I had a hand in introducing the Firle a few years ago in Wisconsin, every once in awhile they show up on trail camera but miraculously never a focused only partial photo. The are more elusive than a cougar in Wisconsin.
Doesn't Jeff from Mn. still hold the record for the biggest Firle? or was it Serb?
Here's some info about the North American Firle.
Feel free to add content.

Serb was into big things, especially firle. Mine are just average ones. I wonder if Serb has seen any in Colorado. I bet he only moved there so he can get resident license and access to more hunting land. Wonder how much hunting land he has sold and gotten permission to hunt on as part of the deal.
Jeff in MN's Link
Should have included a link to Dan's current job. He might just tell you about his hottest firle spots, or not.
Jeffd, it started with a typo of "rifle" from someone that escalated to quite the ordeal. I believe Ruger caught the typo and the rest was history.
I was the one who spelled Rifle "Firle"
Tweed's Link
Here's some info on the Firle.
Please add more info based on your expertise. I believe MF and Jeff are referenced.

Dang it L2H, you spilled the beans... How long ago was that?
Tweed, interesting link. Pretty sure I saw one on the shores of the Chippewa Flowage a while back.
L2H, Your a bad bad man. LOL
It was awhile ago right before the gun deer season, some pretty good relentless jabbing at MF and some great stories about the mighty Firle that came out of it. One of the funny things that would happen was others trying to figure out what the hell we were talking about.
I definitely sat on the google for a few minutes yesterday trying to figure it out with no luck. Something about a village in England comes up. It all makes sense now.
I was under the name of NWO at that time.
Guys that never seen one try to pass it off as a "typo" but some of us know better.
L2h needs to be banned for a while
"L2h needs to be banned for a while"
Well, that's uncalled for.
L2H, I guess you can get a pass this time. Someone other newbie will be around sooner or later and want to know that the heck a firle is.
After reading the article in Tweed's link sounds like there really is such a thing as a firle after all. But what the heck, that link does not work now. The association of firle communities must have hacked the article in order to keep their underground life a mystery.
There was no way I was going to ask what a firle was. Period. I haven't been on bowsite that far back so I was clueless. I did search it though under urban dictionary - firle; a furry urinal in a women's bathroom ยท Suzy peed in the firle. To say the least I know that's not what you guys were referring to. MF - Your fingers type faster than your brain. Been there done that.
L2h, guess i should have put a smiley face!! : )
