I just booked my Idaho Elk hunt.. 3rd week of Sept...my quest for a big bull continues.... this will be year 4.....I have been so close every year...the mountains are tough on bow hunters

Jax - is Idaho a lottery state? I've been out there before on a vacation and you're right about the mountains, they are huge, not like New England at all. Even Mt Washington is an easy climb compared to out west, and I've climbed Mt Washington several times.
I'm trying to get back out there for elk myself, but was looking at Colorado since it's an over the counter license state.

over the counter and if you get a deer elk combo you can also shoot a wolf or a bear

What wa the cost of tags and is ur hunt guided Jax? I’m going someday soon was gonna do Montana not sure what would be better

Elk hunting is crazy exciting!! These animals are huge and when they come in bugling, glucking, snot flying out of their nose, stinking to high heaven, with antlers the size of 2 office chairs on their heads,.........doesn't get much better than that!

Im not sure but i think my parents were in area 51 just before i was born..im not sure ,thats the family story.its all alien to me..lol

I haven't been in 51 but if I remember correctly there are a lot of ag fields round Mackay. The Ag fields are a pretty good place to find them and try to figure out how to get in front of them when they go to bed at first light.
