Maybe pigs do fly...if so he was in a great position to get a shot. The arrow in his hip was probably one Mike Persinger shot and was a little off his form.

My wife has a cousin in Alabama that runs them with dogs and then when they have them cornered goes in and kills them with a knife! Not all the time sometime he uses a bow or gun but quite a few times they go in grab them by the hind legs - pull them out and sticks them. I think I prefer to use my bow!

I was able to closely examine Don's arrows on our pig hunt. I used to make my arrows; never considered myself other than fair at it. Don's arrows are impeccable. I've never seen such a quality finish on any wooden arrows. After he explained how many times he buffs them out, it's easy to see why. Weight and spine tested and straight. I don't think you can get any better.

So what was the final result of the hunt?
From: David Mitchell
01-Mar-18
Eight pigs came home to WV for 4 guys--not all bow kills. The sightings were not near what you guys reported. Hoppy said that there had been probably 100 hogs killed since you were there--that's 100 fewer hogs on the feeders. Most of what we saw were fairly small to mid-sized. Hunting the same stands/feeders all the time has to cut down after a while on what you see. We did not hunt with the dogs. Hoppy thought that some of the reason there were so many hogs sighted earlier when you guys were there was due to high water in some areas after the hurricane. They probably went back home after the water went down. The only time I saw a lot of pigs was the last night when I saw probably 25-30 in three different groups that came around and not one of them would come anywhere near the feeder and stand. They were all pretty small too. Fnshtr (Wayne) and his son Brandon were fine company to share camp with.

Dr. Dave, Wayne and the boys..... glad everything worked out and you guys could hook-up. Some guys have to wait for YEARS to get in down there and you guys pulled it off in what.... two weeks. :^) Good for you!
That's one of those great places where a lot of guys like to go every year.

I am indebted to David and Matt for allowing us to tag along. This hunt was my birthday present to my son. Couldn’t have happened without Don Hoffman either.
Believe me Jim, I know how fortunate we we’re to get in on this hunt. Blessed actually!!
Thanks to Don, David and Matt.
