Before attending a program on the reintroduction of wolves into Colorado, I was shocked to learn that the CBA does not have position on the issue. What's up with that!

We sent an email alert to all our west slope members about the meetings. I believe it was posted on our Facebook page.
I believe at the commission meetings we were prepared to testify in opposition to reintroduction, but the meeting attendance never allowed us to.
If you care to call or email me, be glad to talk. My number is in the magazine

Walter, "shocked to learn"? "what's up with that"? Steve is correct, the CBA was present at the Commission meeting and very much in opposition to any reintroduction of wolves in Colorado. I attended and was also prepared to testify in opposition and both the CBA and I were on the list to do so. The Commission chose spoke- persons on both sides of the issue to testify as limited time allowed. Sportsman were well represented even though we did not get the chance to testify. The CPW Commission,, DOW, is on record in opposition to wolf reintroduction as is the CBA. I hope this information reduces the "shock" some what.
my best, Paul

As a good CBA member I contacted my area representative about the CBA's position on wolves. In fact I spoke to two reps. Both informed me that CBA had no position. I was surprised at the news. Sounds like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Two CBA reps were at last nights program. Neither spoke!

Walter, I must apologize to you if my first post seemed sarcastic in reply. Did not mean it that way, sorry. Paul

I'll bring it up at the board meeting. We have a written policy on a lot stuff including a crossbow statement in the magazine. If we adopt one, it needs to be published.
At today's meeting of the wildlife commission, there was public testimony about the meeting in Carbondale, and specifically how Rick Davis, cba area rep provided stellar comments at the meeting. Thanks to him! Also thanks to you for bringing it up, communication to members and volunteers can always improve.

The board discussed a wolf policy on Saturday. While we are on record as agreeing with the parks and wildlife current position of oppostion to the reintroduction of wolves, we do not have a policy statement. By procedural rule, to adopt a policy the board must have a 2/3rds vote, and we must give the membership opportunity to lodge comment. We will allow public comment and input from the membership for consideration at the general membership meeting in March at the banquet, and then vote to adopt a policy statement. We will then put the word out to all volunteers, and the membership.
Hope that helps, thanks for the input.
