IS quail season still on? Wish now I had a pic of my GSH retreving the bone. He didn't find it only after I directed him to the area I saw it in.

Most of the deer are still packing in my neck of the woods but I found this one while moving some stands.

Jake found this on a soybean field when we were heading out for a goose hunt last Sunday. Easy to see on bean stubble in the headlights.

Checked a camera today and the last time I had bucks with antlers happened to be February 25th. So I spent about an hour looking. Didn't cover much of the section just some good trails.

Found these with a buddy on February 27th. Top one isn’t done justice in the pic, it was a nice shed.

Pretty sure this is last years from my buck this year...we found three today, nothing big

I figured if his other side measured the same 67" and he was 14" wide, he was 148" this year

I missed this one a couple years back when he was about 170". I figure this shed was from the year before.

Man Matt I'm surprised you don't find any giants where you are. Before they shut down antler collecting on the refuge some giants were found over there.

We found a cool young deadhead burning crp in the bend of a creek today. On the way home had a herd of deer cross the road in front of the truck. A big buck and small 8 both had both sides.

I walked for 3 1/2 hours yesterday and did not find an antler... I'd say that was my final walk of the year! Found 38

I checked trail cams this weekend and still have a bunch of bucks with both sides still on. I was kind of surprised at how many were still holding. It's not over yet (for my area anyway)...

Found this one while pulling a stand for the off season. I walk a lot of miles and don't often find much; but find this guy while not hardly even looking.

Checked cameras yesterday and looked for sheds where I hunt. Didn't find any sheds, which is not unusual there as it is a travel lane between feed fields and bedding areas, but found this on one camera still sporting his head gear

I'm posting this you can all laugh at my expense. In Trebarker's April 1 photo, I kept staring and staring at the deer, looking for "headgear". I couldn't distinctly see any antlers, but there's just enough brush in the foreground and background that I couldn't be certain he was wrong. It was only when I finally gave up and was ready to move on that glanced away from the center of the photo and saw the second deer : )

Hey brick, do the same with Cherney's pic. Checked my trail cams last weekend, didn't see any polished horns this time.

Trebarker: No, I didn't make the same mistake twice. But that thought crossed my mind when I looked at Cherney's photo too.
