I just learned that Google Maps on my phone has a “measure distance” feature. “Drop a pin” right on the blue-dot indicator of where you are, then at bottom of screen, swipe upwards on the “dropped pin” banner. There’s a choice that says “measure distance.” Pretty easy to figure out how to use it from there.

I used that all season. I was scouting some new spots yesterday and couldn’t for the life of me remember how to do it. Thanks for the reminder. I think it’s a great little tool.
