Been recovering from 3 surgeries on my right arm 5 weeks ago. Started tryna shoot a couple of arrows a week or so back. Didn't even know if I would be able to draw the bow back. Used the bow exerciser for about a week before trying. Went up to the range today to see what would happen shooting a few arrows. I have a cabelas 3d turkey target and turkey season is next so I thought I'd make it a challenge for myself. These are my first 4 arrows at 60yds. Pretty happy.

At my age I find it takes like several months to repair from whatever sprain I end up with,.. I can only imagine surgery ,.. it will be a longer haul,.. hang in there.
Human body is an amazing thing!

Yup tough gettin old. That makes 4 surgeries in the last 2yrs. for me. One triple disc neck fusion (wouldn't wish that on an enemy) and three on my arm related to nerve damage from the neck fusion. Fighting and clawing not to have to use a crossbow. I think 50 yrs. of muscle memory allowed me to be able to shoot again.

Deerslayer -that is great shooting. Curious do you use that long stabilizer hunting or just target? Tried my No- Cam with and without stabilizer and shot no different out to 50 yards Can relate to surgery. Am para at T-11 complete with Harrington Rods. Never thought I would shoot a compound again. Took years but developed enough core muscle to shoot accurately from my wheelchair. Sounds like you will have no problems recovering from surgery. Good job.

Brookie I have not used the long stabilizer for hunting because most shots for me have been 20 yds or less. I regularly practice at 80 to 100 yds. Because it forces you to make your form perfect. That way when you move into real hunting range you can almost hit blindfolded. I would have no problem hunting with it say out West for like elk or mule deer.
