Live right under the rim near highway 260 and the elk leave the area from Nov until March. Had my first major sighting of elk this spring today. On my way to Phoenix this morning spotted Elk Poop in the road one about 200 yds from the driveway, and then another pile about 200 yds from the first.
On the way home from Phoenix spotted 3 cows with a yearling in one group and another group with 2 cows. This is the first indication that they have moved back for the summer.
