just saw this on boston bowhunter. I know there are many zone 11 guys on here. I cannot make it because of academic obligations but figured i would relay the message
Well today is a day late girl me to see this, but what happened? I do not hunt Middleboro but what was this all about?
Saw this on boston bowhunter. Short notice but I beleive it was a public hearing for the extended archery season. Likely to answer questions and test public approval. Hopefully there was a favorable turnout for hunters
But why an issue fir the town's board if selectman to take up? Hunting us allowed in Middleboro, correct? Is their resistance to this proposal their that they may try to create an ordinance or whatever to not allow it in this town? I do not understand this hearing. It's a state MFW issue, not a town. Anyone have more info?

Alright, I could not wrap my head around this and let it go, so a little google follow up on the outcome of this hearing. The only reason i can see from this article is the hearing was held for public input because Middleboro spans 5 WMA's. I did not know that. They are in support of extending archery season, but what were they going to do if public input was negative? Why is this a town issue if hunting is already legal in the town?
Another thing i took from the article that may help someone wanting to hunt that area is... 1 - Cranberry bog owners looking for bowhunters to hunt their lands ... here is quote - “So there’s constant complaints. Bog owners call me all the time asking if there are any bow hunters that they can get because there’s a lot, a lot of deer in the bogs.” You should be knocking on doors/calling bog owners, right ?
Chris Reed the owner of Reedy's Archery in Middleboro will likely have had a small army at this meeting. Anyone who goes to his shop should inquire as to results. Good Luck. C
