Can you return a tag?

Just looking for clarification before I call CPW, you can return a drawn tag for a refund correct? As I read it, if drawn on points you can either get a refund but no points or you can keep your points but still have to pay for the tag?

Just making sure, considering putting in this year but in the event people in my party draw elsewhere some of us may have to cancel the colorado trip. Thanks.

I actually like the 30 days, gives others time to pick up decent/premium tags below the 5pt threshold.

Bear in mind that returning a tag for points re-instatement causes you to essentially lose one point. You go back to your pre-draw point level and don't gain a point for that year. Not a problem if you had way more points than needed to draw. But can be significant if you previously had just enough points to draw the tag, resulting in several year's wait before you could draw it again.
