The Wisconsin DNR has recently made more information available for consideration before the April 9th spring hearings. They have sifted through years of kill statistics to issue a report called "A summary of weapon use by Wisconsin deer hunters 2014-2017". I hope it's ok to post this link to the information.

Anyone wonder why the DNR quickly assembled some numbers to get out before a Spring Hearings vote??

Maybe they wanted to prove bowhunting, as defined by the P&Y Club, is in a continued decline, while the more effective crossbow hunting is on the increase.

Apparently the sky is not falling and some of you haters are gonna have to get use to the fact that "your" rut-drunk buck might just wander off of your land and get popped by the neighbor who might be enjoying the great outdoors with his legal crossbow. The horror.
The other thing this tells me is that the DNR has either too many employees or too much time on their hands, or both. Might be an opportunity to trim some fat at the DNR.

What is really needed is for someone to get factual info to the gun hunters of this state.

This is the same one that's been out for awhile. I think Droptine posted it in a different thread.

That would be a good question for Kaz to answer.

Yes, that is an older one. It has the DNR math on it. Most of the half way intelligent DNR managers & biologists have taken jobs in other states so we are left with the morons. Speaking of morons, look at the picture of the xgun user with his cocked gun loaded with an exposed broadhead. I suppose his mentor is taking the pic. These are the types that are running around the woods with loaded guns & the types of DNR personnel that use those kind of pics. WOW! The future looks great.
