it takes twice as many nonresident points to hunt 76 as it does 66 but the success rate was a lot higher for 66 if im readin it right. can someone explain that to me?

Which season are you referring to? Archery? I did quite a bit of 66 research this year and it seems like a good unit. The population is not down but they are trying to raise it. Think I read by 18%.

archery elk. if you look at the statistics the percent success is way higher than 76. ive hunted 76 and was saving my points but now im thinking about cashin em in.

I don't think you are looking at the correct numbers. The 2017 harvest just came out last week. This is what I see for archery unit 66 34bulls, 7cow/calf, 155 hunters, 26% unit 76 64bulls, 2 cows, 154 hunters, 43%

Unit 66 is on lots of radar. Point creep going to keep a lot of people out of it....
