There is probably something missing here, but wow. There is so much wrong with this..
Hmm first Id fight that as sitting in his car with a gun is not illegal then id divorce my wife for ratting on me.
Massachusetts is the worst state in the country. It makes me so angry and in reality, theres nothing anyone can do about this. It just gets worse and worse. The vast majority of people are going to view this as a good thing and that's where the problem lies.
haven't lived in MA for a few years but thought trigger lock was all you needed. according to this you need trigger lock and safe? agree w/ BB22, the majority want the minority unarmed
Hasn't that been the law in MA for 10~ years? That you have to have your guns in a locked case/safe with a trigger lock when stored?
From the start, it seemed dumb to me, that if someone wanted a pistol for home protection, and had it say, in the night stand or under the mattress or something where they could actually GET it for protection, how requiring the locks and storage made sense. "Excuse me burglar, I'm going to get my locked pistol, and the ammo stored in a separate place, and I'm going to get that set. Can you just wait before coming any further in?" Ugh.
And yes, I'm the guy who is perfectly fine with mandating background checks etc, nationalizing that etc. It's like so many areas... something happens, "we" freak, politicians want to look good the first Tuesday in November and create laws that sound good but dont really function as intended.
I realize it may sound ironic that a pretty liberal guy is saying that... But it's true.
Lets start from the beginning the hospital must have a sign saying no guns if it does not all they can do is ask the guy to leave which he did. The police found him in his car which is still not illegal. Their was nothing to warrant anything further. I see a good lawyer getting the charges dropped
This stinks. He was legal to carry in the hospital though maybe not the best idea since he was seeking medical help. His guns at home had trigger locks so leave him be. Shame on the wife. Bad move if he didn't notify the chief when he moved. That likely will cost him his LTC.
