Was gracious enough to have a good friend invite me to hunt with him at his property. Felt like I was on a guided hunt. Had tons gobbling everywhere and was able to connect on a monster at 5:40am.

Nice! There was one gobbling where I was yesterday AM, but when he flew down, he headed the other way. I did see several deer, found a drop, and brought home some wild asparagus from a bed I found a few years ago.

The biggest bird I ever got was years ago from an area that over looked RT44 in north Canaan where it had a few farms to feed from and get fat. It weighed just over 25 pounds live weight, but any bird at 22+ pounds is a big bird. I'll bet it was so old it was passed it's prime, probably heavier last year. A real trophy with that beard and spurs!!

That’s a hell of a bird Dave!! You should be proud. Probably 4 years old. Think about that in terms of a whitetail and you should be on cloud 9. Shotgun or bow?

You must be on cloud 9. That is a real nice bird! There's not much more fun to be had than turkey hunting. I got another tom yesterday,state land. Almost 2. Sure is a blast!

Are the turkeys still calling?? I'm headed out next Friday and am wondering if I should even call? Any thoughts?

Yes Shawn they are still talking/gobbling. I shot this one today at 9:40am. 22.3lbs, 10 1/4” beard, 1” spurs and lots of fun!!

Shawn, think of turkey hunting this way,......if there's a hot babe at the far end of the bar calling you to come over and play, you wouldn't care if it was May 16th or 25th!

And as late as this spring was and now with this prolonged rainy weather you will prob be able to call in a gobbler into mid-June this year! At least I hope
