Starts Thursday Afternoon, July 19th and goes through Sunday, July 22nd.

2. NOTE: The "Shipping Fee" is actually the Camping or Use Fee. Everyone must pay this per our contract with the ranch. ($10 per family or vehicle).

* It takes many volunteers to put this huge event together. * Please sign up to volunteer.

VENDORS: Anyone who would like to be a vendor at the event, contact Roger Trudell at: [email protected].

Also, we have NO food vendors registered yet, so if you know of a food vendor - invite them to come. They will make lots of $$$$$.

DIRECTIONS TO QUAIL MOUNTAIN RECREATION AREA (ranch) are: Drive south of Leadville on Highway 24 about 16 miles to Highway [82] Turn west and go ¼ of a mile on [82] Turn south about ½ mile and take the ranch road west ½ mile to the "X" - Jamboree Location. There will be signs at each turn.

TARGET TRAILER PULL UP AND RETURN: !!!!! $150 !!!!! We are going to do something new this year. We are giving people who pull up or return a target trailer to Leadville, $150. There will be no trade for shooting or membership. This $150 includes your gas and should leave you about $100 in profit.

VOLUNTEERS AND HELP NEEDED: There is lots of work to set up this event. If you can volunteer to do one the tasks below, let us know. Go to our sign up genie at:

FIRE MARSHALL: If you are fireman and would help coordinate the campfire policy, please contact Roger.

RANGE SET UP & TAKE DOWN: This starts about noon on Sunday, July 22nd. We need lots of help with this, so PLEASE let us know if you are available.

CHILI CONTEST: We need someone to run the Chili Cook Off. All supplies will be purchased for you - you just need to coordinate the event. ALL MEMBERS - MAKE A GALLON OF YOUR BEST CHILI AND BRING IT TO THE EVENT.

KIDS RANGE: If you would like to spend two hours doing a Kid’s shoot, 12 and under on the Kid’s range, let us know.

CALLING JUDGES: If you are an experienced turkey and elk caller, we need five people to judge the Turkey and Elk Calling Contest.

KIDS TENT: We have a Kid’s tent for a few hours on Saturday. This is for children about ten and under. In the past, we have done painting, coloring, balloons, and made items. If you like kids and have ideas - sign up!!!

REGISTRATION DESK: We need three volunteers in each time slot - three hour shifts - to help attendees register for the event.

VENDORS: If you would like to have a booth to sell archery items, food, or other products, contact Roger Trudell.

If you have any questions about the Jamboree - contact Roger (doctortrudell@aol). Note that we have only one food vendor at this point, so bring food along AND WATER!!!

· FYI Information: 1. Fire policy: Basically, if there is no fire ban, fires will be allowed in a steel fire pit. You must register your fire with the Registration desk. You must have five (5) gallons of water right next to the fire. THE CBA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DECLARE "NO FIRES ALLOWED" due to a potential

forest fire!!!!!!!

2. Pets: You can have pets. They must be under your control at all times. You are responsible for your pet and cleaning up after him/her. Please make sure your pet has all the appropriate shots and vaccines. The full Pet Policy will be at the Registration Desk. We have had problems with free running dogs. Please keep your dog under control at all times.

3. Event Gate: The gate to the event will be kept locked, except to vendors and volunteers. We will unlock the gate Thursday afternoon, after the ranges are set up.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions: PROHIBITED:

1) Building, maintaining, attending or using an OPEN FLAME, including fire, campfire, stove fire, charcoal grills and barbecues, coal and wood burning stoves, and devices (stoves, grills or lanterns) using liquid fuel such as white gas or kerosene. This prohibition applies to the entire San Juan National Forest, including Wilderness and developed camping and picnic grounds.

Except: Devices (stoves, grills or lanterns) using pressurized gas canisters (isobutene or propane) that include shut-off valves, or within an enclosed vehicle, trailer, or building. 2) SMOKING. Except: Within an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building. 3) WELDING or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame. 4) Operating or using any INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE (e.g. chainsaw, generator, ATV) without a spark arresting device properly installed, maintained and in effective working order meeting USDA Forest Service or SAE approval. 5) Operating a CHAINSAW without an approved spark arresting device, a chemical pressurized fire extinguisher (8 oz. capacity by weight or larger and kept with the operator) and a round point shovel with an overall length of at least 35 inches readily available for use, or outside of the “Hoot Owl” restricted hours of 5am – 1pm. 6) Using an EXPLOSIVE. This includes but is not limited to fuses or blasting caps, fireworks, rockets, exploding targets, and tracers or incendiary ammunition. 7) Discharging a FIREARM, air rifle, or gas gun. 8) Possessing or using a MOTOR VEHICLE OFF ESTABLISHED ROADS, motorized trails or established parking areas, except when parking in an area devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of the vehicle.

Dave... the Jamboree is bordered by the San Isabel National Forest, not the San Juan and the Jamboree is not on Forest Service Land, it is on private so the National Forest Fire Restrictions do not apply. The County Fire restrictions are what matters:
