Gets hit hard little over 800 acres of huntable land.

I’d recommend hunting bigger timber farther south. You need to get 2 if not 3 hours away from Chicago area for your success rate to get to 50%.

Any recommendations? Like I said, I am new to deer hunting and know no one to point me in the right direction. I hunted this area for turkey, saw deer tracks and figured it a place to start.

Well your familiar with the property other than tracks did you see any old or fresh rubs? Did you run into any deer? Trails? Old scrapes?
