I have been making mock scrapes for about 20yrs now and have had bucks at scrape about half the time . To this point I have never used a licking branch I have used a dripper with estrus scent . I am wondering what are some thoughts about licking branches. This year is the first year where I know their are 2 41/2 yr. old bucks in the area.

I always used Code Blue Rack Rub on my licking branch over the scrape. I thought it made a huge difference. I would also hang a tarsel gland with some dominant buck urine while hunting near the scrape. https://www.codebluescents.com/code-blue-rack-rub-gel

I wouldn't make a mock scrape without a licking branch, and my absolute go-to is a grapevine that I hang over the scrape. I have five of them here in Ohio and all 5 are actively being visited by bucks.
