Dang…missed the Testi-Festi by a couple of weeks! The town has changed some since I was last here in 1997 (no longer have the tobacco leaf auction). Nice seeing the many pre-Civil War houses and bldg’s. around town.

Anyway, great town, great weekend, great hiking, great finds and great camping (Weston Bend SP). If you’re ever outfitting an Air B & B or an event venue, this town is a must stop!

The place had a cool outdoor saloon for us “picker” types to unwind at. Had a few spirits in both the barber shop chair bar stools and the half VW bug booth.

For all your orneriness you do make up for it in ways like this by throwing out these cool little places to visit. I agree with Randy here and I’m definitely gonna check this out. Just looked at the map and was pleased to see its real close to where I’m gonna be traveling through in Missouri this fall anyways.

I’ve spent a lot of time around Weston. Folks live nearby.

Randy...you won't be disappointed. I am sure alot of us on here have common interests besides just bowhunting. That is what I particularly like about this thread.

Kyler...your folks live in a beautiful part of the USA!

Me and Ella was just hanging out on the back deck earlier just enjoying some quiet time. Took some shots earlier and later when it got dark just kept snapping it over and trying to get lucky with the lightning strikes. It would take about 5 seconds or so for the phone to bring in enough light but finally got fortunate enough on one. There was bigger strikes but kept missing them.

You can get a lightning camera on your phone. I use one.

Lightning is fascinating and can be cloud to cloud or ground to cloud and are electrical discharges. The beauty is the "lichtenburg" effect as the lightning branches.

Why would you save a picture for 2 years with no deer in it you ask? First of all, rain beginning in 2021 has become much harder to get a picture of than deer; but also, look at the time, it’s accurate.

Cool ksq! Caught the pic right at the time of a lightening flash!

What's the camera app for lightening photos?

No way my pics are as good as yours be still. Your's has the whole thunder head in it and some nice color too. Very nice!

Some look at lightning bolts and some don’t! Need to get the masons back out because they either cut this outside corner piece a bit too long or the grout has done shrank up and fallen out.

Happy 4th…says Mini-Lady Liberty. Seems fitting to share today. She is out in BFE…but has a beautiful few of the Solomon River Valley while overlooking the combine working in the fields below (lower left corner of 2nd pic). If you have visited her….well then you get a Gold Star!

Embaressing when he gets two positive responses. Even more so if the third response is NO.

Pretty cool way to ask the question! Wonder if he gps'd it or did it freehand?

From: crestedbutte
14-Oct-23
I would guess he GPS’d it….lettering is almost perfect and edges are straight and crisp. However, might not be GPS’d. because that “y” is spaced further away than other adjacent letters.

Special thanks to everyone on here, you know who you are, that helped by giving me contacts that contributed in getting this equipment down here. It was a long journey but it sure feels good for this here dirt clod to have friends in high places.

Anyways out for the first time playing with my old but new toy and I’m having a great time on doing some brush clearing out behind the house.

From: crestedbutte

From: Catscratch

Oh my! The trouble you're going to get into with that will be epic!

From: be still
22-Nov-23
Crested there was 3 different things I thought he might be talking about. A redneck swimming pool, a giant aquarium, or yeah…a tank or pond. It would be costly but I guess it would help deer from getting EHD as bad with it being concrete around the edges instead of mud.

Yes let’s not talk about the tires. I think it was 13 new tires I had to buy before it got down here. That was just part of all that went wrong on this trip:?)

Kyle I bet I could rent one cheaper up there than transport this thing around:?)

Cat I got quite a bit done today with it…pretty dang pleased with it. Puts my backhoes to shame on how much work it can do it a short amount of time.
