Man Kills Infant Daughter with Crossbow

On June 26, in the Town of Colesville, Broome County, during a domestic dispute with his wife, who was holding their 3 week old, infant daughter, Patrick Proefriedt fired his crossbow at her. The broadhead tipped bolt, fired from the crossbow, hit the infant in the upper chest, before exiting from her armpit, and then striking the mother. He removed the bolt and tried to prevent the mother from calling 911. He fled in his truck, and was later arrested less then a mile away when his truck got stuck in the mud. The mother was transported to the hospital, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene. May God her innocent soul. Prayers for the mother.

This is so hard for me to process, how someone could commit such a terrible offense against their own family. Heartfelt sadness and prayers for that poor family.
